John Ed Ryan
John Ed Ryan, a founding member and past president of New England ( now North East ) Building Code Association (NEBCA) passed away recently.
Rollie McGarry ( John Ed’s daughter) acknowledges with deep appreciation our association ‘s kind expression of sympathy and thanks us for the beautiful flowers and celebrating the life of John Ed Ryan.
Not only did we lose a true friend but also a tirelessly advocate for the development of codes. John Ed attended all code development hearings, near or far, and worked diligently to assure that codes were updated and useful for us code enforcement and fire officials and for the general public. NEBCA has formed a committee in order to create a scholastic stipend for a code official(s) to attend national code development hearings - our tribute to keep John Ed Ryan’s name involved in the national codes.
